UPFRONT AND ETHICAL
In the USA the “lifetime” of an infrared sauna is considered 7 years. Many of the brands offering a “lifetime warranty” know this and use it against you after 7 years of ownership. Your Finnmark sauna comes with a 10-year warranty, giving you piece of mind that after 7 years you are still covered.
Our Spectrum+ infrared emitters (UL Listed) have an estimated operational life of 40,000 hours and our carbon 360 heaters have an estimated operational life of 30,000 hours. Using your sauna 5 times per week your Spectrum heaters can last up to 130 years. Our Spectrum Plus Incoloy heaters have a unconditional lifetime warranty. We are that confident in these heaters.
The cedar that is used to build Finnmark infrared saunas is naturally dried for minimum of 6 weeks under the sun to preserve the wood’s natural state. This method also guarantees that the cedar will keep it’s unique ability to kill bacteria and mold. The wood will never bend out of form, crack or lose its color. In the rare event that you might have an issue with your sauna, our 10-year warranty covers the entire sauna – controls, electrical and wood.
If you are using your sauna in a commercial location, you are still covered under a 5-year warranty.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SAUNA’S WOOD
Finnmark infrared saunas are made from the highest quality FCS Western Canadian Cedar available. Like most furniture or cabinets made of wood they are susceptible to minor dents, scratches and scuffing. This is normal and will not affect the integrity or operation of your sauna.
Wood is a living material that continues to respond to climate conditions, even after our extensive drying process. Irregularities such as fine cracks are part of the natural beauty of the wood and in no way should be considered defects.
Prior to shipping, the wood is inspected for consistency, color and quality. Our saunas are shipped around the globe and can experience slight blemishes, scratches or scuffs in transit. In most cases, these blemishes on the exterior of the sauna can be concealed by using a small amount of furniture polish, oil or other furniture treatment. The interior blemishes, scratches, or scuffs can be either left alone or sanded. Please avoid any treatment containing benzene or a high concentration of alcohol.
HELPFUL TIPS & WARNINGS
Do not use power strips
A power strip is not capable of handling the power an infrared sauna requires. A power strip can cause arching and possible fire.
Hire An Electrician
If you need a dedicated 20A or 230V outlet installed please hire a licensed and bonded electrician.
Don not change your 15a outlet to a 20a outlet. Your existing wiring won’t handle the current.
Follow all building codes during installation.
Replace Your Outlet
If your home is older than 7-10 years, we recommend giving your sauna a new commercial grade outlet.
